Auxiliary members provide emergency support to on-scene firefighters and emergency responders, principally by supplying snacks, meals, and beverages. Members plan and execute activities for the company and hold multiple fundraisers each year including raffles, a vendor fair, an Easter flower sale, a military whist, a chowder sale on Memorial Day, and more. Auxiliary members often participate in various committees and walk in the annual Memorial Day parade.
Any resident over the age of 18 who resides in the Town of Haddam (or a non-resident that was formerly an Auxiliary member) is eligible for membership. A $5.00 yearly membership fee is payable every September. You don’t need to have any affiliation with the fire service to join.
The Auxiliary meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Monday of every month at Station 1, 439 Saybrook Road in Higganum. Anyone with questions or interest is welcome to attend the meeting. For more information on the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary, email haddamfireaux@gmail.com.
